SUNDAY RECREATION.
RESTRICTIONS IN PARKS.
PLEA FOR CHILDREN,
A petition for the abolition of restrictions on the use of the play apparatus by children in public parks on Sundays was submitted to the City Council last evening by a deputation from the New Zealand Association for the Advancement of Rationalism.. The deputation was introduced by Mr. T. Bloodworth. Mr. R. F. Way, who headed the deputation, said tliit the petition bore the signatures of 700 citizens. His association considered it injiist that the children of poor parents should be deprived of such facilities when other families spent the holiday in resorts out of town. There was a general feeling. among citizens that the restriction should be removed. The Deputy-Mayor, Mr. A. J. Entrican, said that the petition would receive the council's favourable consideration.
