MAORI BURGLAR.
ADMITS SEVEN CHARGES.
COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE
Seven charges of breaking and entering five shops, one house ancl the office of°the Mount Roskill Road Board, and stealing goods and money of a total value of £1 10/2, were brought against a Maori named William Matthews, a iabfnlrer, aged 26, at the Police Court this morning. Considerable evidence was given by witnesses. Acting-Detective Kemp said he interviewed accused on July 30. At first Matthews denied the offences but later he made a statement admitting the crimes. Witness found two keys on Matthews. The schoolbag was found on a launch and the' motor driver's licenses were in his room. Accused pleaded guilty to all charges and was committed to * the Supreme Court for sentence.
