"AUSTRALIANS THE BETTER."
(Received 1.30 p.m.)
LONDON, August 3.
P. F. Warner, in the "Morning Post," discussing the prospects of tho final Test, says: "Tho impression the earlier Tests leave is that the Australians arc tho better team. Though England possesses fine individual players, the side does not seem to blend as a combination, largely owing to lack of allrounders. Our batting has not quite reached expectations, despite individual good efforts. "Leyland has not done all that wae expected of him; Jiis length is inadequate. Parker ia tho most effective left-hand bowler in. England, but, being 4(5 years of age, he is a poor bat and field. Nevertheless, if a soft wicket is assured, he would strengthen the bowling. Chapman is an inspiring leader, but seems to have declined a little as a tactician."
