Attempt to Blow Up Tramcar
Fails.

SYDNEY, this day.
What the police think was an attempt to blow up a tram occurred at Manly. The vehicle made contact with three huge chunks of gelignite, whereupon the whole district was disturbed by a deafening explosion.
The passengers were thrown into a state of panic. The tram was badly damaged, but no one was injured.
