THROUGH MALAY STATES.
An excellent idea of the wonderful | variety of life in the Malay peninsula i was given by Captain- G. HumphreysDavies, in a lecture last evening at the! University College, under the auspices of the Auckland Institute's Anthropology and Maori section. The teeming life, and the- varied peoples met with in this interesting part of the Empire were explained in a most interesting manner, and the account was heightened by a very good series of cinema films,, which showed the natives at work, and scenes in the cities and villages. The lecturer also showed a varied collection of native weapons, garments, and other articles.
