HEAVY FLOODS.
DAMAGE IN ENGLAND

There have been serious cloud bursts, causing loss of life in some parts of England. Floods swept through the villages of Sleights and Kuswarp, where inhabitants took refuge on the roofs from which the coastguards rescued them. A Wliitby woman, employed at a riverside camp, was torn from her employer's grasp and drowned. The River Esk rose to an unprecedented height, and rail traffic lias been suspended. Sleights is completely cut off. ' < - ■
