PEDESTRIAN'S DEATH.
CHARGE OF NEGLIGENCE.
WITNESS TO BE SUBPOENAED.
After hearing several witnesses yesterday afternoon, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., adjourned until this afternoon the inquest into the death of John Robert Garrard and the charge against Arthur Stanley Neale -that he drove a motor ear negligently so as to cause Garrard's death on the evening of July 7. Mr. Mackay, who appeared for Neale, said it was difficult to find witnesses who had actually seen the accident. He had been in touch with one who was considered to be the best eye witness, but in spite of the fact that the police had been given the name of the man he now learned that they did not intend to call him. Stating that he would give Mr. Mackay a subpoena, the magistrate said he would see that the witness was called.
