MR. W. L. HOPEWELL.

WHANGAREI, Wednesday
The death occurred early this morning of Mr. William L. Hopewell,' aged 62. He -was born at Topsliam, Devonshire, and had been a well-known company secretary at Wliangarei since 1912. Mr. Hopewell was very intimately connected with band work and was secretary of the Wliangarei Municipal Silver Band for six years, resigning at the last annual meeting. His wife and daughter (Mrs. J. Dent) and son (Mr. W. S. Hopewell) reside in Wliangarei. • A brother, l Mr. A. Hopewell, is a resident of Miti* I tai.
