A ROSENOR COLT.
SHOULD TUEN OUT WELL.
LOOKS BARGAIN AT SOGS.
Golden Sceptre, a rising two-year-old gelding by Rosenor from Moiselle, therefore a half-brother to Night Lad, who raced well as a two-year-old, is one of the inmates of A. Cook' 3 stable at Te Awamutu. - This youngster has made good progress since he won a division of the two-year-old parade at the Waipa meeting last month, and looks as though he will come to hand early. His sire Rosenor was imported to New Zealand, and during his racing career in the Dominion showed himself to be possessed of exceptional speed. Golden Sceptre was secured as a yearling at the last Trentham sales by Mr. W. Whitmore, of Dargaville, for 80gs, and should prove a very profitable investment at that figure. Another youngster under the same trainer is a filly by Legionnaire from White Bird (by White Eagle from Lady Southampton), an imported mare that was raced by the late Mr. H. B. Philcox and trained by T. George at Ellerslie, some seasons ago. A Ithough not over big, she is a beautifully turned ■on breeding alone should be valuable, filly, who on breeding alone should be valuable. She is owned by Mr. J. N. Heslop, of Auckland.
