ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES.
A QUIET MORNING.
EAGER ROSE RESUMES WORK.
The No. 3 grass track was open at Ellerslie this morning for fast work. As a result of recent rain it was a bit holding. There was not a great deal of work doing. Grand Spirit and Lady Court were sent four furlongs, running the distance in 51 4-ss. Jt was a useful effort, both fillies shaping well, especially Lady Court. Lusoma and Stimulant were allotted a similar task, covering ths distance in 54 l-ss. Both were doing their work well at the finish. Great Emblem and Informant sprinted home from the tliree-furlong post in 40s, the former having a shade the best of it at the finish. Catoma was worked over six furlongs, completing his task in 1.24 4-5. Wild Country, Thunderstorm and Manawhenua were together after running tlie last five furlongs of their work in 1.9 2-5. Marble Mount was worked over a mile and a quarter, completing the final round in 1.57 4-5. He was not hurried at any part of the journey. Arrivals. Maori Boy and Lady's Boy have returned from Wellington, and were out doing steady work this morning. Eager Rose has returned from Te Awamutu, where she has been spelling since racing at the Waipa meeting. Jockeys' Engagements. H. Wiggins has been engaged to ride Havering in the Winter Cup, and H. Dulieu will pilot Mangani in the Longbeach Hurdles at the Christchurch Hunt Club's meeting at Riccarton next Saturday week.
