VAN TO MEET PALMER ?
THE AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Northern Boxing Assocation is endeavouring to secure, the services of Frank Van, who has had considerable success in Australia, for a match against .Tiger Palmer, who beat Cleverley in convincing style last week. Palmer is eager for the match,- and the association's secretary, Mr. J. Watts, is at present awaiting a reply from Van. If the negotiations are successful, the pair will meet in the Town Hall on August 11".
Entries for the Auckland amateur championships, to he held on Friday and Monday next, close at 5 p.m. tomorrow. The members of the New Zealand and British Rugby teams will be the guests of the association on Friday. •
