CHANGE IN THE PERSONNEL.
MR. C. L. LUKE ELECTED
WELLINGTON, Monday.
One change in the personnel of the New Zealand Dairy Produce Board was made in the election which took place to-da^ - to fill vacancies caused by the statutory retirement of three producers' representatives. . i For Ward No. 3, which embraces molt of the Warkato and Bay-of Plenty districts, Mr. S. A. Ferguson, of Motumaoho, Mdrrinsville, was defeated by Mr. C. L. Luke, of Te Puke, "Bay of Plenty. Mr. Luke was supported by the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited.
For Ward No. 4, embracing most of Taranaki, Mr. J. Hine, acting-chairman of the board, was re-elected unopposed. For Ward No. 7, which comprises North- Canterbury, Westland, Nelson and Marlborough, the retiring member, Mr. H. T. Chapman, of Little River, Canterbury, was re-elected by a comfortable majority over his opponents, Mr. T. Mould, of Little River, and Mr. D. Knight, of Tua Marina, Marlborough. The results as announced by the returning officer, Mr. P. Grainger, of the Department of Agriculture, are as follows:—
Ward No. 3.^—Mr. C. L. Luke, 400 tonnage votes; Mr. R. S. Ferguson, 431 Ward No. 7—Mr. H. T. Chapman, 133* • Mr. D. Knight, 82; Mr. T. Mould, 37£ Ward No. 4.—Mr. J. Hino re-elected unopposed.
It is understood that Mr. Ferguson received 47 more individual votes than his opponent, but he lost on a tonnage allotment. -
