LAND PURCHASED.
■ . AREA NEAR TE KUITI, FOR DEVELOPMENT PURPOSES EMPLOYMENT, PROSPECTS. (By Telegraph.—Special to" Star.") WELLINGTON, this day. The Minister of Lands, the Hon. E. A. Ransom, informs the "Star" that the purchase has been approved by Cabinet of 3350 acres of property near Poro-o-Tarao, known as Tupuwae, south of Te Kuiti, One portion is grassed, but the great bulk is undeveloped, and lends itself admirably to the Government's method of dealing with undeveloped land, as labour can be employed at an early date in bushfelling, clearing, grassing and road making. Included in the purchase are a number of well-constructed buildings, which will provide accommodation for those employed on improvements.
