FOURTH TIME..

SMALL SHOP ROBBED, DOMINION ROAD BURGLARY. GOODS WORTH £25 STOLEN". "CLEANED ME OUT PROPERLY." Goods to the value of at least £25 were stolen from the small confectioner's shop of Mrs. Henderson, Dominion Road terminus, when burglars broke into the shop last night. It was the fourth time the place had been broken into. When Mrs. Henderson left her shop, some time after 11 o'clock last night, she double locked her door. When she arrived this morning she found that the door had been forced by a jemmy. Goods were scattered in all directions. Chocolate fish and bars of chocolate had been tossed on the floor, and all that remained were a few jars of sweets, one tin of tobacco, a packet of cigarette papers, and a few odd bars of chocolate. The thieves had made a clean sweep. Tins containing packets of cigarettes had been opened and the packets stolen. Tine of tobacco, and even matches, were taken. 4 Sweets of all kinds and bottles of soft drinks were also missing. Nearly all the new stock which had been delivered yesterday was stolen. The tobacco taken was valued at £15. "They have cleaned me out properly this time," said Mrs. Henderson. "What they couldn't take away they have destroyed," she said, as she pointed to broken bars of chocolate lying all over the shelves and the floor. The sum oi 7/6 in coppers was taken out of the till. Two years ago Mrs. Henderson's son hid himself in the shop/ and when the door was forced by burglars he waited till the men were inside. Then he hit each on the head with a "life preserver." The rest was easy.
