WEDDINGS OF THE DAY.

DONOVAN— MAUI. The wedding was celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Te Aroha, of Miss Agnes May Maui/youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Maui, of Walton, and Mr. Victor Leslie Donovan, third son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Donovan, of Ngarua. The church was comfortably filled by the many friends of the principals, and the Rev. Rather Corby was the officiating clergyman. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in white satin beaute, with white silk georgette petals, forming a turnover hem line. Miss E. Donovan, the bridesmaid, wore orange . chiffon velvet, and her hat to tone was of silk georgette. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Arnold Donovan. The wedding reception took place at the Excelsior Tea Rooms, which were daintily decorated in honour of the occasion. GOBLE—DIXON. The wedding was celebrated at St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Morrinsville, on Tuesday, of Miss Mary Hamilton Dixon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Dixon, of Walton, to Mr. Thomas Edgar Goble, of Morrinsville. Canon Gillespie officiated, and Mrs. M. P. Barlow, of Walton, played; the wedding music. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock with closefitting bodice of silver' lame and skirt of satin beaute with uneven hemline, panels of white tulle, and hip bow of silver lame and satin. Her embroidered veil was held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms, arranged with tiny sprays at each side. Her toilette was completed with a magnificent shower bouquet of white lilies, freesias and daffodils, with fronds of asparagus and white ribbon streamers. The matron of honour was Mrs. Lester Kirk, sister of the bride, and the bridesmaid was Miss Joan Watson. Rae Gwillim and Nola Kirk were flower girls. SCURR—SMITH. The marriage was solemnised at St. Paul's Church, Huntly, on Monday, June 2, of Edna Julia, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Smith, of Rotowaro, and William, second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Scurr, of Rotowaro. The ceremony was performed by Rev. C. J. BushKing, and the "Wedding March" was played by Miss Housley. The 'bride wore an ankle-length frock of ivory georgette inset with lace medallions, and caught at the shoulder with a spray of silver roses and lily of the_ valley. Her embroidered veil was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of palest pink roses, chrysanthemums and asparagus fern. The bridesmaids were Miss Mabel Smith and Miss Margaret Boag, cousin of the bride. Miss Jean Hodgson was flower girl. The reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents, Rotowaro, Mrs. Smith receiving her guests in a frock of navy satin beaute, with touches of lemon, and hat to match. Mrs. Scurr wore a frock of blue satin relieved with silver, and hat to tone. In the evening a dance was held in the Pavilion, Rotowaro, where about 200 guests were entertained.
