OBITUARY.

MR. SIDNEY PALMER,

A well-known resident of the faupo district, Mr. Sidney Palmer, died at Rotorua. He lived for a number of Tears at Oruanui, being managing director ot Robert Palmer and Sons' mill. He Had been a member of the Taupo Road Board, tlie Domain Board, and the local Rugby Union. He served during the boutn African war with the New Zealand Contingent. He is survived by Mrs. Palmer and three children.

MR. WILLIAM BANKS

The death of Mr. William Banks,'of Luke Street, Otahuliu, occurred suddenly on June 14 when he was visiting his son in Birdwood Avenue, Papatoetoe. Mr.. Banks, junior, left his father for a short time in the course of his work, and when ho returned found him unconscious and death occurred before medical assistance could bo obtained. The late Mr. Banks I was 73 years of age.

MR. JOHN W. SIMMONS,

■ The death is announced of Mr. John W. Simmons, late of Waihi, at his residence, Upland Road, Kelburn, Wcllirgton, in his 92nd year. -Mr. Simmons, who was the son of the late Rev. I. Simmons, of Kent, England, resided in Waihi for a lengthy period, and wjis attached to the transport., department of the Waihi Grand Junction Gold Company. His brother, Mr. Henry Simmons, was manager of the company during its earlier history. Mr. Simmons is survived by his widow, who is_ we 1 knoAvn throughout the Waihi district.

LATE MR. A. R. CRANE

The funeral of the late Mr. A. K. Crane at Kaino yesterday was one of the latest seen in North Auckland, the line of "cars being one and a half miles in length. People were present from a I parts of the North. The interment took place at Kepemikau Cemetery, Kamo, the service being conducted by the Rev. A. Drake.

Mrs. Agnes Price, widow of the late Mr. E. T. Price, died on June 15, aged 77 years. She leaves the following children: Messrs. J. .Price (Matamata), R. E. Price (Te Aroha), E. T. Price (D.annevirke). W r . Price (Kerepcehi) and George Price (Thames), and Mesdames Connolly, J. Donald and George (Auckland), Wyatt (Pukekohe), Redwood (Wharigarci), Mackie (To Aroha), Phelps <N§atca) and Miss Price (Thames). There are 44 grandchildren and six great-grand-children.
