BRENTLIGHT IN SOLID WORK,

V./ATborn lias decided to race Lilikman at the Auckland Trotting Club's winter meeting, and he will leave for the North in a few days.

J. J. Kcnnerley is. now training the pacer Denver Hinds. She started eleven times last season, and won four races, liier successes being achieved on the West Coast and at Nelson.

The pacer Wallace Logan, who has not raced for some time, is a recent addition to J. Davidson's stable.

Brentlight is being kept in solid work, He is a useful sort over spring courses, and a quick beginner, but it is doubtful if he will reach the best company nn two-mile races. F. J. Owen is working a two-year-old filly by Travis Axworthy, from Lindbergh's dam. She is a quality looking youngster, and possesses an excellent

Cox will keep the two-year-old trotter Todd Lonziain steady work through the' winter months, but he will not .be asked'to do anything fast until next season. . • ■ ;' . ■ Wilma Dilloh showed distinct signs of soreness after a recent' work-out. It i,s to be hoped it is nothing serious as the pacer is in rare form at present. _ Laplander is doing' all right m his training work, and this useful pacer should show up -well in early engagements. , . Vesta Ray is a useful sort of pacer, but she will require to settle'down.considerably before she is successful in The yearling by Sonoma Harvester, in \ Cox's stable, did not take long to go at the pacing gait, and now moves freely without the hopples. . The youngster looks like coming to hand very quickly. Vendome looks none the worse tor Jiei recent racing, and she is in splendid condition. The Australian-bred pacer should, win more 'races, especially .over short courses. .. The speedv trotter Nounnahal is in work again, after spelling since August. Bhe is .being trained by F. Gallacher, who also has John Mauritius in his stfiblc • The"trotter Rey, who has not,been in work long, is now being sent along faster, and F. -J;, Owen, hopes to have the Rey de o>o mare ready to race early in the new season. , C. Tasker is jogging the. two-yeai-old filly by Nelson Derby from Pearlie Chimes. She is a well-grown .youngster and a neat pacer.
