ANOTHER GERMAN FLAG.
FLEW FROM APIA POST OFFICE
GIFT TO MEMORIAL MUSEUM.
Mr. R. A. Spinley, of Devonport, showed a) representative of the "Star" a German flag which was flying on the post office at Apia, Western Samoa, when the New Zealand Contingent landed in 1914. His brother, Mr. Fred Spinley, who later was killed in France, secured this flag and sent it to his people in Auckland, together with a number of proclamations issued by Colonel Logan. The flag is blue, white and red, and at the top has the letters "Z" and "V" with a large anchor worked on it. The family has dccided to offer the flag and the proclamations to the Auckland Memorial Museum. /
