MOTOR CYCLIST- INJURED.
MACHINE SKIDDED 75FT.
AVERTING A COLLISION.
Trying to avoid a collision with a motor car near the inter-section of Campbell Crescent. and Manukau Road last evening, a motor cyclist, Mr. Alfred Charles Elliott Brighton, aged 25, of 71a, Eranklin Road, Ponsonby, received serious head injuries, and was admitted to the hospital about nine o'clock in a semi-conscious Condition. His condition to-day was reported as fairly grave. A woman passenger in the side-car. was slightly hurt, but she was able to go home.
A motor car driven by Dr. J. H. Clinch, 'a lecturer, was turning round in the road, and when 27ft away from the car, the motor cyclist applied his brakes sharply, with the result that the machine skidded 75ft crosswise and then capsized. . • •
