OBITUARY.
MR. WALTER LAMBERT. An old resident of Onehunga, Mr. Walter Lambert, died on May 25, at his home, Norman's Hill, aged 89 years. Mr. Lambert was born in Suffolk, England, in January, 1841, and came to New Zealand in the ship Langstone, arriving at Auckland on August 22, 1880. He went to reside at Otahuhu, where he was employed as a wool-classer. After a short stay there he went to manage a store in Samoa for Messrs. McArthur and Co., but as the climate did not suit his health he returned after two years, and settled at Onehunga. Mrs. Lambert predeceased her husband about two years ago after celebrating their diamond wedding. Mr. Lambert is survived by an adopted daughter/ Mrs. H. Horn, of Pukekohe. The funeral took place yesterday at the Waikaraka Cemetery. The burial service was read by Mr. H. P. Leng, pastor of the Church of Christ, of which the deceased had been a member for many years, assisted by the Rev. A. H. Sedgwick, of the Church of England. \ SB
