ROTORUA NOTES.

Mrs. Newsom, Pukuatua Street, is spending a holiday in Auckland. Miss Grace Lysnar has returned from a visit to her home in Pukekohe. Mrs. Boyer, of Waverley, is a guest at Brent's Bathgate House. Mrs. Eric Westlake, of Te Puke, is the guest of Mrs. C. H. Tapper, "The Bungalow." Mrs. J. D. Davys and Miss V. Davys, Pukuatua, are spending a holiday at Devonport. Miss Collins, who has been visiting Botorua, has left for Wanganui. Miss D. .Corlett has returned from a visit to Auckland.

A social was given by the parishioners of the Devon Street Hall on Friday evening at Devon Street, when the guests of honour were the Rev. W. T. Lea and Mrs. Lea, who are leaving to reside in Te Puke. Autumn tinted chrysanthemums were the floral decorations. A musical competition was won by Mrs. Orsler and Miss R. Holland, first; Mrs. Plummer and Cobeldick, the consolation prizes. A mock court caused much amusement, the order of the court being presentations to Mr. and Mrs. Lea of a supper set and plate, a cushion, cigarettes and matches, and a picture. Mr. and Mrs. Lea, in responding, expressed their thanks for all that had been done for them. After supper, the rest of the evening was devoted to dancing. At St. Luke's Parish Hall on Monday evening a farewell party was given by the members of St. Luke's Girls' Club to their president, Mrs. Lea, who, with the Rev. Lea, leaves Rotorua shortly to reside in Te Puke. Pink and white chrysanthemums and autumn foliage made effective decorations. The musical programme corjsisted of items as follows: —Songs, Miss R. Owens, Miss J. Giesen; recitations by Miss E. Sharp; violin solos, Miss Grace CameronJohnson; pianoforte solos, Miss C. Sharp. The accompaniments were played by Miss M. Mactier and Miss C. Sharp. An amusing competition was won by Miss M. Cooney. On behalf of the members, Mis 6 M. Mactier presented Mrs. Lea with a handbag, and expressed regret at Mrs. Lea's departure. All joined in wishing Mrs. Lea every good wish for the future. Those present were: Mre. Lea, Mrs. Bates, Mrs. Giesen, Mrs. Anderson (Auckland), Misses Isles, M. Mactier, R. Owens, R. Campny, V.
