» ——. OVER FOUR THOUSAND PLACED FIGURES-FOR AUCKLAND. A communication has been received by Mr. G, C. Munns, M.P. for Roskill, from the Minister of Public Works,, the Hon. E. A. Ransom, giving figures in, regard to work found for unemployed in the Auckland district The Minister states that a special return from the Labour Department shows that over 4400 men have been placed on Government Avorks through the Auckland Labour Bureau since the present Government assumed office, and that 1035 have been placed since January 1 last. Arrangements were recently made to place another 125 men from Auckland on Government works, and employment for an additional 425 was authorised.
