REPS. CHOSEN.
GAME WITH NORTHLAND.
PLAYERS TO PRACTISE
Twenty-three players have been selected to go into training with a view to being chosen to represent Auckland League against North Auckland next Saturday. Most of the men arc tried and tested players, but some new talent has caught the selectors' eye. Hobbs, the Ellerslie forward, is a new candidate for rep. honours, and his consistency has thoroughly deserved it. George Perry, the City three-quarter, has also justified his inclusion in the probables for, in addition to scoring three tries on Saturday, he has been a consistent performer in his other games this season. The selection of Brady, the Marist centre, was- a foregone conclusion, as he is one of the most promising backs in the code. Likewise, Carter, of Kingsland, is deserving of a trial.
The who are to assemble for practice at Carlaw Park to-morrow and Thursday evenings are:— Backs: Gregory, Brady, N. Campbell and Brisbane (Marists), List and Carter (Kingsland-Athletics), G. Perry, Shortland and Wctherill (City), Seagar (Devonport), Delgrosso, Riley and P. Skelton (Ponsonby), and Peckham (Richmond).
Forwards: J. O'Brien and Clarke (Marists), Somors (Ellerslie), Pascoe and M. Watena (City), Skelton (Ponsonby), Ruby (Devonport), Francis (Newton) and Hobbs (Ellerslie). Any player unavailable is requested to ring Mr. E. Asher immediately.
