WAREHOUSE WINDOW SMASHED.
DAMAGE IN ANZAC AVENUE
A determined, but unsuccessful, to "ain entrance to the warehouse of Aulsehrook and Company, Ltd., in Anzac 4venue, opposite the railway yards, was made during the week-end. This morning when employees went to work they found that a large plate glass window where goods are displayed, was shattered, and a large' advertising mirror inside the window was broken into small pieces. Two large stones _ were found on the floor inside the display window. There is a large hole iit the corru-o-ated ,iron fence immediately opposite the premises and it is fairly evident that the window smasher hurled the stones from behind this fence. An attempt had been made to enter the warehouse- through tlfe; broken window, but the intruder was unable to get un/tajrs, the. window being well boxed in and the door securely locked. About IS months ago burglars entered the same warehouse by a rear window, rolled the large safe on the floor, prized the back open, and stole several pounds in cash. ~
