ADDINGTON NOTES.
CAEMEI AND NATIVE PRINCE. HORSES FOR FORBURY. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") [ CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. Native Prince, who won the Halswell Handicap, is still doing plenty of useful work at Addington under C. Fairman's charge, in the absence of J. S. Shaw, his regular trainer, 'who went North after the Easter meeting to assist the New Plymouth meeting. 9 Although Carmel has been sold, and will go into G. S. Donald's stable, he has not yet been removed to his new quarters. Native Prince and Carmel arrived here some time prior to the Easter meeting in Fairman's charge, and the condition of the two Auckland pacers is a credit to Shaw's assistant, who is well known at Addington. J. Deyell has Nelson Ata lookins particularly well at present. The trotter has engagements at the Forbury Park meeting, but it has not yet been decided that he will be taken South next week. Esbine is doing plenty of useful work at Addington. The trotter has a good deal of speed, but in races he does'"not always control it properly. < T. G. Fox's pacer, by Sheik from Lovebird. has grown considerably during the last few months, and is now a commanding two-year-old. She is one of the few of Sheik's progeny in the Dominion. Linkman raced well but unsuccessfully at the Easter meeting. He now* seeme quite sound, so that he may come back to the form he was showing a month before the last C'up meeting. J. Washington is still persevering with the trotter Accumulator. He goes capitally in his training work, but in a race he rarely settles down to solid business. If he would show his best speed throughout a race he would soon be a winner. Kreisler is looking well, and is pacing satisfactorily in his training work. D. Bennett has not yet decided when he will race him. Muriel de Oro's performances at the Easter meeting were not as good as expected. She had been working satisfactorily, but she seemed to lack stamina with the colours up. T. G. Fox has got Nelson Boy in his best shape at present, although in his recent races he has not raced as well as anticipated. Achray is doing plenty of steady work under G. McKendry's -charge. .Achray is a useful sort over short courses when at his best. Brentlight, who looks as though he will not grow much more, is being kept going in his training work by A. Cox. He is a speedy pacer and a very smart beginner. Sonoma did not race up to expectations at the Easter meeting. He is a rare good stayer, and when he has had some more racing experience he should win a good two-mile event. Morrison, who looks none the worse for his racing at the Easter meeting, is being kept going by W. J. Tomkinson, and another win this season should come her war.
