TENNIS CLUB DANCE.
A dance - arranged by St. George's Tennis Club was held last evening in the Renown Hall, Papatoetoe. Music was provided by the club orchestro. _ Mr. b. W Nicholson acted as organiser of dances, and Mesdames T. H. C. Partridge, Richards, and Rayner were chaperons. During the evening the championship tennis cups were presented by the Rev. T H C. Partridge to Miss E. M. Kendall (l'adies' singles) and Mr. S. W. Nicholson (men's singles). Prizes were also presented tor Miss T. M. Richards and Mr. V. R. Smytheman, runners-up in the competitions. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Dulcie Grinter and Mr. R. J. Jenkins. Among those present were: Mrs. T. H. Partridge, who wore black velvet and silk, Oriental trimming; Mrs. Kendall, black beaded georgette; Mrs. W. Orj, black georgette, red posy; Mrs. E. A. Rayner, navy crepe de chine; Mrs. Burrell, black lace over black satin; Mrs. Ranum, blue ninon; Miss Page, navy crepe de chine relieved with beige; Miss Lily Cabouret, white satin tulle; Miss Daphne Noonan (Te Awamutu), apricot georgette, with large black bow; Miss Laura Richards, blue crepe de. chine, relieved with silver; Miss Guelda Fitness, buttercup tulle over taffeta; Miss N. Burrell, apricot satin georgette, floral appliques; Miss P. Ranum, moonlight blue shot tafFeta and gold; Miss Marjorie Kendall, blush rose taffeta; Miss A. Fitness, salina pink georgette; Miss Nancy Orr, .midnight blue georgette; Miss Gwenyth Price, Oriental blue georgette and silver lace; Miss Truda Richards, choral embossed georgette; Miss Ivy Smytheman, blush rose satin and silver; Miss Mona Waters, black georgette and rhinestone; Miss Keeling, bois de rose georgette; Miss Gladys Grinter, sequin lace over pleated flame georgette; Miss L. Linton, blush' rose crepe de chine; Miss Estelle Enelling, cameo embossed georgette; Miss J. Orr, midnight blue georgette and diamante; Miss Ethel Hastings, pale pink;,taffeta and silver; Miss Ada Eade. green georgette trimmed with silver; Misb M. Robinson, eau de nil georgette and tulle;' Miss Dulcie Grinter, shaded pink georgette with frilled skirt; Miss Merle Ellery, apricot georgette and tulle; Miss G. McCauley, apricot taffeta; :Mis s Gladys Billington. shaded Oriental blue, georgette.
