WEEDS ON GOLF COURSE.
INSPECTOR'S REPORT. OTAHUHU COUNCIL DISSATISFIED. '"Instead of the inspector being , deceived, it looks a<s if Tie is trying to deceive the council," said Mr. Gray at the Otahuhu Borough Council meeting when the sanitary inspector's report was presented. At a previous meeting of the council the inspector was requested to explain why liis report regarding noxious weeds on the Auckland Golf Club's land wa<s misleading. His explanation was as follows:—"I beg to explain that I was deceived as to the extent of the equation, in that the photo pointed one by the secretary as part of the ornamentation scheme, and others as part of the obstruction of the game were of a more extensive nature than at first appeared. It will be readily perceived that until the work was in hand it wag difficult to ascertain its extent, and also what lay behind it, etc.' . It was decided, on the motion of Sir. Grey. '■'That the question of the continued employment of the present sanitary inspector be referred to a combined meeting of the works and legal and financial committees."
