hew zealandee appointed. * MR. G. S. CABOT, OF DIRSTEDUN". (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") WELLINGTON, this day. The first opportunity to do research work with the world-famous Carnegie Foundation has just come to a New Zealander. The. anpointment has been given to Mr. G. S. Cabot, of Uunedin, and he will leave for America almost at once. Mr. Cabot, who was chosen from nominees from all over the world, will make his headquarters at Columbia University, New York, and he intends to investigate the psvcholosical basis of vocational training, which is almost an untouched field. He will be in the United States for at least one year. Mr. Cabot has been on the etaif of the Otaco Boys' High School, and is well known as"a fine athlete. At the Otago University sports meeting a few days ago he reduced the figures for the quarter-mile walk' in. L2~3 3-s—a New Zealand record.
