SOCCER IN WELLINGTON.
CLUB CHANGES NAME. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Wellington Y.M.C'.A. Soccer team after next Saturday becomes the W.Y.M.I. (Wellington Young Men's Institute). The change of name is the outcome of the Y.M.C.A. senior team not being bona Me members of the Y.M.C.A., and that body has raised objection to continued use of the name. Y.M.C.A. directors notify at the same time that they are not ceasing to take an interest in the Soccer game, but the game must be on the same footing as the associations other activities. They intend to start all over again with boys' teams and build up. In asking the local Soccer Association for its approval and consent of the change of name to W.Y.M.1., the secretary of the present Y.M.C.A. club said the Institute was running two Soccer teams as well as two cricket teams. 'It was their intention to become an incorporated body, and they hoped to cater for more teams in the lower grades.
