At the annual meeting of the trustees of the Auckland Savings Bank on Thursday afternoon, the report of the chairman, Mr. John Allexander, C.M.G., was adopted. Mr.. Alexander was re-elected president, and Mr. E. Anderson was reelected deputy president. Messrs. W. Wallace Bruce and F. C. Buddie were re-appointed auditors. Subject to the approval of tlie Gov-ernor-General in Council, the . trustees decided to distribute the sum of £6250 as follows:— Obstetrical. Endowment Fund, £2000. Auckland branch of the" Plunket Society, £2000. Auckland branch of St. John Ambulance, £1000. Auckland Hospital and Charitable Aid Bostrd (for the creation of an endowment towards the purchase of radium for use in this district); £750. Auckland Sailors' Home, £500. It was in 1906 that the. trustees -inaugurate! the practice of making donations .to worthy objects, giving service to the community, and these latest votes bring the total so distributed up to, £118,100. ''
