COAL DISPUTE.
MONEY RUNNING OUT Striking Miners Desire to Start Work. OPINIONS DIVIDED. (United P.A.-Electric Telegraph-Copyright) SYDNEY, April 7. The coal miners to-day held the first aggregate meetings on the northern fields. There were large attendances, but lack of optimism. At four centres the mine owners' compromise terms were rejected. However, at Adamstown the men voted in favour of a return to work by a large majority. Officials of the Miners' Federation stato that there are only sufficient funds in sight to continue strike-pay on the present scale for six weeks. After that the miners must be content with half rates.
