DROUGHT BROKEN.
RAIN AT NEW PLYMOUTH.
WELCOME TO FARMERS. POWER FOR TRAMCARS. (By Telegraph.-*-Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, this day. The drought has ended. Last night .2iin of rain fell and is continuing fairly heavily. The rain is very welcome to fanners, and if it continues it should relieve the problem created by the shortage of electric power for the running of trams and other purposes.

STEADY DOWNPOUR DEVELOPS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTOX NORTH, this day. The dry period •which has extended over the past four weeks was broken at noon when rain set in. A light drizzle lias now developed into a steady downpour that will be welcome throughout the district.
