REPORT ON UNEMPLOYMENT
APPROVED BY CABINET. STATEMENT BY MR. VEITCH. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON", Monday. At a farewell to Mr. Andrew Collins, one of the founders of trade unionism in New Zealand, the Hon. W. A. Veitch (Minister of Labour) said a board had been set up at his instigation to investigate unemployment and make recommendations. He had drawn up a scheme of which Cabinet had approved. It would be published shortly. The Minister considered it would do much to relieve the unemployment problem, and although it might be improved upon, it was impossible to devise a scheme which would appeal to everyone as perfect.
