MUSEUM COUNCIL.
THREE VACANT SEATS
Nominations for the throe seats on the Museum Council for the representation of local bodies will close on April 10, ten days before the election. Up to date four nominations have been received —Mr. I. J. Goldetine (One Tree Hill Road Board), Mr. T. R. Smytheman (Papatoetoe Tgwn Board), Mr. W. H. Potter (Waitemata County Council) and Mr. R. T. Michaels (Newmarket Borough Council). The retiring local representatives are: Mr. P. M. Waters, chairman of the Manukau County Council; Mr. R. B. Todd, formerly Mayor of Otahuhu; and Mr. E. Aldridge, Mayor of Devonport ; All bodies contributing to .the maintenance of the museum, i.e., the Waitemata and Manukau County Councils, and all borough councils, road boards and town boards, from Papatoetoe to Helensville, have the right to nominate a member of the council, and every member of the local bodies has a vote in the election. The Mayor and three other councillors represent the City Council, and the remaining eleven members of the Museum Council are elected at the annual meeting of the Museum Institute, which will be conducted in May.
