MANGERE CROSSING.
PROPOSED RAILWAY BRIDGE. A CONFERENCE HELD. Mr. S. W: House reported at the meeting of the Manukau County Council to-day tliat Mr. Rickard and himself with the Mayor of Otahuhu waited iipon the assistant manager of railways re the need for a bridge at Mangere Crossing. They were told that for such works local bodies were now expected to contribute a portion of the cost. Tliey were asked if the local bodies Were prepared to bear the cost of metalling the approaches to the bridge if it. Was constructed. Mr. House <3aid that, subject to the approval of the respective councils, this was agreed to. The council without discussion gave the requisite approval.
