SEVERE FALL IN EXPORTS. SYDNEY, March 17. According to the returns of Australian overseas trade for the seven months ended January 31, the value of exports was £65.969.019, which shows a decrease of £16,437.905 in comparison with the same period of the previous year. Imports totalled ■ £87,224,915, an of £779,753. The exports included £8,179,185 in gold sent to London by the Commonwealth. The heavy reduction in the value of merchandise exported is due to the fall in wool and wheat prices, as well as to smaller shipments. Wool exports dropped by over £14,000,000, and wheat by £4,000,000, or nearly 50 per cent. For the month of January exports were valued at £7,256,131, compared .with £13,618,283 . last year. Imports were valued,at £12,441,062, against £13,490,054 in January, 1929.
