The Oliinemuri Jockey Club's meeting was concluded at Pacroa yesterday in glorious weather and favoured with a large- attendance. The racing was again fir.st-class,, and there were several close finishes during the day. The Sprint. . .Lucy Rose did not line up for the Paer'oa Handicap, and Leitrim, cari-ying £820, was favourite, others to get good backing' being Takutama ( £030), Value (£487), and Branson (£303). Awarere and Leitrim were 'first out, with Takutama and-Ivingfield next, but Town Bird soon ran to the front and led Takutama. Town Bird did not last long in the lead, and before the straight was reached had given way to Awarere and Takutama, with Leitrim, British King and Branson following. In the straight Branson came along with' a good run,- and in a close finish got up to defeat Awarere by a head, with Leitrim a head away. . Takutama was next, followed by' Kingfield, Value and Rose Lupin. Glenotus Again; ; Ah Wera dropped out of the Hauraki Plains Steeplechase and Glenotus was favourite, carrying £744, next in demand being Mashoor (£538) and Boomerday (£421). Spalpiko began quickest, but ran off at the double, leaving St. Warri-' gal in the lead, but over the double the second time Foxhound was in front from St. Warrigal, Boomerday, Potoanuiy Odin and Glenotus. BOomerday was in, command the next time round from Odin and Glenotus, and he led along the.' back and into the straight, where he ran vei'y wide, and Glenotus ran'through on the inside to win by one and a half, lengths, with Odin three-quarters of a length away/ Potoanui was fourth and Brundee Boy next. Maslioor's rider lost-an iron alpd pulled his mount up. St. Warrigal fell during the second round. • Owairaka Lands Waikino. • Branson, Luminary and Crown Arch were not saddled up for the Waikino: High-weight, the final event of the meet•ing. It was a great betting race, with Awamutu (£898), King Willonyx (£629) and Prince Lu (£438) carrying most support. Awamutu and Prince Lu made the early running from Quinsilia and Owairaka, and along the back they were attended by Dainty Manners, Owairaka and Quinsilia. Awamutu turned for home first from Prince Lu and Owairaka, but onco in line for the judge, Owairaka wore Awamutu down and won by a head, with Quinsilia one and a quarter lengths away.
