Dr.,.. Emma Buckley Turkington, of Auckland, addressed a public- meeting, held'., on behalf of the New. Zealand Obstetrical Society's endowment appeal.
She explained the object. of .collecting sufficient funds throughout the Dominion to endow a chair of obstetrics at the ISTew Zealand medical school. A committee, composed of the mayoress and the heads of the women's organisations of the town was set up, with the object of collecting £150, the district's quota.
