N.Z. SECONDARY INDUSTRIES.
CHILDREN'S COMPETITION,
The comprehensive character of New Zealand's secondary industries has been strikingly evidenced by a novel competition recently organised by the Auckland Manufacturers' Association. Prizes were offered for .the best collections of New Zealand brands and labels, . and the*, competition was open to school children in all parts of the Auckland Province. The winner, Beryl de Berry, of 2(5, Wilton Street, Grey Lynn, sent in over 300 different brands and labels, and the other prize-winners had in their collections many not included in the first one. Ray Lawrence, 20, Raymond Road, Point Chevalier, gained the second prize, and Grace L. Brooke, 224, Mount Albert Road; Sandringham, the third. Five special prizes, were also awarded. The first prize of £5 was spent_ in a grocery shop, and no fewer than 60 items of New Zealand manufacture were secured. . I
