WEDDINGS OF THE WEEK.
BALL—GRANT. A pretty wedding took place recently at St. Patrick's Cathedral, when Kathlene Mary Grant, niece of Mrs. B. Nolan, Green Lane, was married to Ronald Edmeades Ball, only son of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Ball, of Papatawa, Hawke's Bay. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Power, and Miss Orniond presided at the organ. The bride entered the church on the arm of her Mr. P. H. Stevens, and was gowned in a closefitting medieval frock of palest apricot and silver shot taffeta with yoke ,and long sleeves of silver embossed lace. The graceful lines of the frock fell into a soft train at the back, finished with a deep border of the same silver lace. Her veil was a billow of pale apricot tulle caught at each side of the head with orange blossoms and apricot forget-me-nots. The bride was attended by Miss Una Hoffey and Miss Mamie Crosby, cousin of the bride, both wearing picturc frocks of delphinium blue and silver shot taffeta and georgette, and wide brimmed black hatg. The fitting bodices were prettily trimmed with hand-made roses, and the skirts, which fell to the ground at the back, were finished at the hip with large taffeta bows. Mr. T. Nolan attended the bridegroom as best man, and Mr. Claude Shroff acted as groomsman. The reception took place at tho Parnell Park Kiosk, the guests being received by Mrs. Nolan wearing a heavy black marocain frock relieved with mauve georgette,..and Mrs. P. H. Stevens in navy georgette and navy hat. Mrs. C. B. Ball wore a navy and beige marocain frock and beige hat. Mrs. J. Crosby, brown satin beaute and brown hat; Mrs. N. Seantlebury (Waiheke), handsome black georgette relieved with pink, hat to match; Mrs. R. Kidd, dainty blue floral georgette and hat to match.
