AUCKLAND'S FAREWELL. ADDRESS FROM CITIZENS. <! LEAVE FOR HOME ON FEBRUARY 1. Their Excellencies the GovernorGeneral, Sir Charles Fergusson, and Lady Alice Fergusson arrived from Wellington by the Limited express yesterday morning. They are on their final visit to Auckland. Yesterday afternoon they attended the Auckland Racing Club's meeting at Ellerslie, and Lady Alice Fergusson and a party from Government House were present at a concert given in the Town Hall Concert Chamber by the' Westminster Glee Singers last evening. To-mor-row morning the King's Empire Veterans' Association will form a deputation to Government .House, and will present an address to tffeir Excellencies at 10.30 a.m.; instead of at 11 a.m., as previously announced. To-morrow afternoon the women's organisations of Auckland will bid farewell to her Excellency at a combined gathering in the- Town Hall, and the opportunity will be taken of making a small gift in token of their esteem; ■ On Saturday evening Auckland's public farewell will take place in the Town Hall and an address from the citizens will be presented by the Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon. An attractive musical programme lias been arranged, including items by the municipal choir, organ music by Mr. Mauglian Barnett, and Maori songs by Mr. Barry Coney. Their Excellencies will leave for Wellington on Sunday evening, and will take their departure from the Dominion on February 1.
