TUNNEL SCHEME.
Europe To Be Linked With Africa. WORK STARTS NEXT MONTH. (Received 1.30 p.m.) GIBRALTAR, Deqember 27. Colonel Jevenois, the author of the tunnel scheme for connecting Europe with Africa, has arrived at Tarifa accompanied by engineers. Plans have been passed for the work, which is to begin in January at Alcazar Seguir, in Spanish Morocco, opposite Tarifa. The Spanish Government has approved of grants to defray the cost of soundings and shaft sinking.
