NATIONAL MUTUAL LIFE.
The Xational Mutual Life Association of Australasia, Ltd., in its report for the year ended September 30 discloses that 20,078 new policies were issued for £9,868,349, against 20,728 new p'olicies in the previous year for £9,807,845. New_annual premiums amounted to £379,097, and single premiums amounted to £338,637. Consideration for annuities amounted to £54 014 Total premium income was £3,332,514, as against £3,381,341 in 1928. Kates and taxes paid were £125,677, and after the deduction of this amount interest and rente returned £1,608,374, equal to £5 6/ per cent of mean funds, compared with £5 0/11 per cent a year previously. Total income was thus £4,941,129. On the claims £815,860 was paid under 1544 policies, on account of 1299 deaths, £654.623 was paid, on account of the maturity of 2401 endowment assurances, and £171.611 on account of 991 endowments being matured. a Expenses o: administration and of getting new business were £431,954, against £402,987 in 1925. j The result of the year's transactions is i ' an increase ot £2,400,264 in the assurance i fund, which amounts to £31,547.594. 1 Assets amount to £32,167,713, of which \ £8.809,914 is in Government securities, j £8,756,286 in mortgages, and £5,201,836 in I loans on policies. . |
