TOWN-PLANNING SCHEME.
" MISCONCEPTION" DEPLORED
MANUKAU COUNTY'S CRITICISM,
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
WHANGAREI, this day,
A reply to comment-made at the Manukau County Council meeting was made by the director of town-planning, Mr. J. W. Mawson, in an address to members of northern local bodies.
"First," he said, "the regional scheme does not aim at town-planning, but at country-planning. It is quite distressing to read that I am considered in the light of a Mussolini, and it shows the amount of misconception which exists regarding tjie plan. It is especially disappointing to. me, considering that several were at my meeting when I explained how things worked so thoroughly. You will see during my address that the Manukau councillors were without foundation for a single/one of their statements."
