Fernden will also run at Hawera. The Australian bred gelding has done very little fast work, but he races well on "a light preparation. Potoaform looks well after his spell. He is engaged at the Manawatu meeting. Just An Idea is stepping out in pleasing style, and promises to win some races shortly. He will be one of M. Gardner's team for Hawera next week.Whenuatonga is being got ready again, and will probably be seen out at Marton on New Year's Day. Arisua and Just An Idea went half a mile together this morning, but were not extended ta run 535. •Star Area put in a good working gallop over a mile. Elysianor looked sore when he pulled up after his race at Feilding, but he is said to be going along well in his work at Bulls, and is expected to strip fit on Boxing Day. He is engaged at both Awapuni and Ellerslie, and will race where best treated.
