Neill have purchased from Sir George Clifford Sudden Storm, and that she goes into R. C. N. Reed's stable this week. This mare should do well on softer courses in the south. , Nedda, who has been., haying an easy time since her return from Australia, has been blistered, and it is not likely she will be raced until the autumn meetings come round. Gieseler is having trouble with Top Speed, who is suffering from corns. He moved very gingerly on the plough track; and unless he improves a lot does not look like a winner at the holiday meetings. ' . <;. \, "% "r .-' '.; A brown filly, by Shambles from the imported mare Batchelor's Picture (by Gainsborough—Bachelor's Valley) in A. E. Didham's stable, is rounding up well and is a very nice mover. Antrim Boy has returned to active work again after a short let up. He looks brighter, but has not put on any condition during his' holiday. F. Shaw has just finished breaking in a good looking three-year-old mare by Solferino from Russian Maid. She only measures 14.1 hands and .will probably be sent to Australia for pony racing. The Merling.filly is now in regular work'amongst Gieseler V team. She is a good looking mare and moves attractively. Membo was s;ent home last week, for a spell'. He has been in work since January last, and during that, time Gieseler won six races with him. . Red Royal was not brought back to Wingatui after the New Zealand Cup meeting and is at present enjoying a spell at his owner's place at Orari.' A two-year-old filly by Last Dart from Mantua is now being given light work by Fred Shaw. She is a good chestnut, and a very sweetly-turned youngster. r ; * j ?' The dam of Maungamdfl and Tunamoe has a nice filly foal thia-seasdn by the imported stallion Pahmure.
