TRANSPORT BOARD CANDIDATE. DISCUSSION AT MOUNT ROSKILL. The question of Mr. G. E. Tansley's candidature for the Transport Board was mentioned last night at the meeting of the Mount Roskill Road Board, when he referred to the necessity for Mount Roskill being represented on the board. He would therefore be pleased if the chairman, Mr. E. F. Jones, would sign his nomination paper. Mr. E. A. Pearce thought that each member of the board could support Mr. Tansley individually, just as they supported the chairman when he was nominated, but they could not direct their chairman by resolution to support him officially. After discussion. Mr. Jones said he would confer with Mr. Tansley privately, and the matter ended.
