PONSONBY PARENTS' VIEW. FAVOURABLE TO SCHEME. Following the casting of a favourable vote among parents of school children in the Ponsonby district, the school committees intend to seek permission from the Auckland Education Board to introduce into Ponsonby schools the Nelson system of Bible reading. It was definitely stated by the committee that if no reply was received from a parent it would be assumed that the parent was favourable to the proposal. Details of the voting are:—Richmond Road, for 247, against 96; Ponsonby, for 177, against 93; Curran Street, for 167, against 60; Bayfield, for 145, against 37. Totals, for 73G," against 2SG.
