TWO SPEEDWAYS.

DISQUALIFICATION OF RIDERS. ATTITUDE OF SPORTS MOTOR CLUB. A decision to stand by the constitution of the New Zealand Auto Cycle Union, was made by the Sports Motor Cycle Club at a meeting last evening. The club's attitude towards the rival dirt-track, which is being built at Blandford Park for cinder-track racing like that at Western Springs Stadium, was defined by the executive. The Auto Cycle Union has recognised the municipal track, and has affiliated the controlling body—Auckland Speedways, Ltd. : It is the policy of the Auto Cycle Union to recognise one cinder track only in each city. Therefore, the status of club riders who want to compete at Blandford Park is not official. The problem of deciding whether unified control or competitive tracks would be in the best interests of the sport has been faced by the riders. Mr. R. E. Champtaloup explained the intentions of Speedways, Ltd., to the meeting, and urged concentration on the Western Springs track. He said Speedways, Ltd., was prepared to give local riders every Encouragement. The company has landed one machine already, and this will be at the disposal of riders whose mounts develop trouble at the last minute. Another machine will be available at the end of this month. "li has been stated that Speedways, Ltd., was bluffing in its statement that it would uphold any disqualification imposed by the Auto Cycle Union," said Mr. Champtaloup. "I tell you emphatically that once a rider leaves the Western Springs Stadium he will not enter the track again this season, and Australian riders will be imported." It was agreed by the executive that the rules of the Auto Cycle Union should apply, and the following resolution was carried: "That this club avows its loyal support of the New Zealand Auto Cycle Union and its willingness to abide by all rules and decisions; furthermore. \p view of rumours current, the club desires to dissociate itself from any nonaffiliated speedway club or body."
