FRUIT EXPORTERS' LOSSES.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED. KELSON GROWERS CONCERNED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NELSON, Monday. A meeting of the executive committee! of all the fruitgrowers' organisations ir the province was held at Nelson, whei delegates discussed how best to elici information concerning the causes of th< heavy losses to exporters of Nelson las season, by reason of the long delay ii shipment and the consequent damage t fruit. Other matters discussed wer priority of shipment; the extra ordinar; differences in prices obtained; rebates 01 fruit sold; cool storage, with consequen losses, in the United Kingdom, an damage to New Zealand's reputation i overseas markets. Mr. J. Dicker, director of the Fruit • growers' Federation, gave some figure indicating the extent to which som growers had failed in their estimates o exportable crops, and the efforts on th part of the management to secure addi tional shipping space. It was decided to appoint a committe of investigation. The meeting also caj ried, by a large majority, a motion i: ' favour of investigation by growers an< voicing disapproval of a petition now h circulation requesting Government inter ference.
